Method

Step 1

Sift the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt together and set aside. Preheat your oven to 180ยบC

Step 2

Grate the frozen butter into the flour mix, then mix together until distributed evenly. Add cold milk, vanilla and lemon juice and mix until it just comes together

Step 3

Tip out the dough onto a floured surface and fold a few times, but be careful to not let the butter melt

Step 4

Roll the dough to about 1-1 ยฝ inch thick, then use a floured cookie cutter to cut out 4-5 scones

Step 5

Beat the egg and brush over the scones, then bake for 10 minutes or until lightly golden, serve and enjoy!
