Chai Spiced Donuts

Serves 6


Step 1

Start by making your favorite chai recipe, I have a recipe video on the Yemeni chai that I use. Preheat your oven to 350ºF/180ºC

Step 2

Whisk together the chai, brown butter or ghee, yoghurt, brown sugar and vanilla extract, then whisk in the egg

Step 3

Fold in the flour, baking powder, baking soda, ginger, nutmeg, ½tsp cinnamon, ½tsp cardamom and salt

Step 4

Transfer into a piping bag and pipe into 6 doughnut moulds. Shake the tray to release any air trapped inside

Step 5

Bake for 10 minutes. In the meantime, mix 1tbsp cinnamon, 1tbsp cardamom and granulated sugar in a bowl

Step 6

Allow the doughnuts to cool, then brush in butter and dip in the spiced sugar mixture. Serve and enjoy!
